Induction and "natural" birth?

Question

Has anyone gone through induction naturally (no pain meds or epidural?) I've been planning for a natural hypnobirthing but I may have to be induced soon due to high blood pressure. I'm 3cm and 80% effaced at 38 weeks 4 days. I've heard the pitocin makes contractions so intense it's a lot harder to do natural. Please share any experiences!! Thank you :)

Yep! I was induced with my first. I was 41 wks and 5 days. Baby wasn't in distress, but I was losing amoniotic fluid. I was given Cervidil (a vaginal gel insert) at 8 pm and had to stay in the hospital for 12 hrs. Cervidil is supposed to soften your cervix. The next morning I was only 1 cm, so an hour later they broke my water. Luckily for me this kickstarted labor within an hour. I labored for 12 hours and pushed for 1 hr without any meds. My doc definitely pushed me to start Pitocin, but baby girl was just fine, so I said no. It was a constant struggle, but my nurses were amazing and totally supported my decision. It takes confidence and a strong will, but you can totally do it!!

With pitocin you won't have the "wave" like pain that comes with a contraction normally. It usually starts out, builds, then peaks, then goes away until the next one. With Pit it usually goes straight to the peak with not as much of a break in between. I know people definitely make it naturally on pitocin, and I personally find it amazing! I had pitocin last time and this time I'm going all natural and I've been told since I have pitocin the first time the contractions might even seem easier to get through because of the wave progression! Good luck! It's not impossible!
