What would you do if your mother in law told you what was going to happen when your baby arrived and tried to control everything even yourself during your pregnancy?

I would say, oh I'm sorry who's baby is this? Mine 💁🏼 don't let her even start that or it'll only get muuuuuch worse & end up causing resentment & tension in your marriage. Good luck with your monster in law!

I'd be too busy to call her when baby was coming and call her the next day to tell her about baby.

My grandmother keeps trying to guilt me into naming the baby after my grandfather (WHICH WE ARE, just not the name she prefers, which we both hate). I just correct her every time she refers to the baby by that name. Let it go, spend as little time with her as possible. If she asks why tell you she stresses you out and your midwife/doctor told you to minimize stress. (Which they do tell you.)

My in laws are pros at making little comments during my pregnancy... I craved Dr Pepper with my 2nd and my FIL was always like, "you didn't drink any soda at all when you were pregnant, did you?" To my MIL.... good for you!! My MIL delivered her 3 naturally and makes it a point to tell me that.. again, good for you!! Haha!

She has wanted to be in the delivery room with both previous pregnancies but luckily didn't put up too much of a fight when I said no. However, with #2, I was very focused on succeeding with BFing and wanted some time immediately after the birth for skin to skin and to get BFing off to a great start. I was induced, so we knew the date and assumed it would be afternoon, and told everyone to just wait for the call that the baby was here and to head up to the hospital at that point to give us that time with baby first. So she decided to volunteer to pick my brother in law up from the airport that afternoon instead of letting his friend do it as was previously arranged, so then my parents and sisters had to wait for her to get back a few HOURS later to come meet baby. She said it wasn't "fair" that everybody else got to be there first because she was going to "be a good mom" and pick up my BIL. I feel like that was her little way of getting back at me for not letting her be in the delivery room. This time around will be a much different story if she decides to pull another stunt like that!!

I'd get her alone and lay it out for her explaining if she wants to be involved great but on your terms she doesn't like it she doesn't have to see baby
