Do You Need To Have a Baby to Be Fulfilled

My husband and I tried to naturally conceive and it didn't work. For the past few months we've been discussing not having children at all. We love to travel, we love spending time with just each other and we love our financial and emotional freedom. Both of us have very good and demanding jobs and neither think we would give up work if we had a child, so that means they would be raised by a nanny. We're at peace with the decision now but will we regret it?

Plenty of people don't have kids for a multitude of reasons (being that they can't or just don't want too). You just have to decide if you think you'll regret it because society tells you you should or wether you genuinely want that experience and are genuinely disappointed you can't and that will help you decide wether you can explore other avenues or leave it be. I have recently become a mother and much like my mother I want to go back to work as it benefits him and me in the long run and it's right for us. I am not ashamed that he will be in childcare as I'm providing financial support for his future and it makes all the time we do spend together all the more precious. I had an awesome childhood and both my parents worked full time 😊

I'm at 40 yo, and last 15 years has tolled me beyond beleif. It took me through 6 psyc. Wards unfortunately.  And attempting to re enter the work force again.

We are October now, and I can easily take a nursing assisting course or similar .

In order to start a family, one needs to have a stable relationship with a partner first (SO). Since I'm in the system (mental health), there's so much shit to comply with and prove and paperwork to show stability.

You guys can just get married. I'm being monitored by the courts in one way or another. So that they DON'T have to conserve me.  To prove that Mr and my SO can take care of ourselves without court interventation.

Hopefully enough of that they'll leave us alone after a while. Well no. Adoption, court monitoring and proving and complience is next. Yup.

I feel like if I couldn't have kids on my own I would do everything in my power before I gave up. Like insemination or adopting, I couldn't live my life without a purpose. Kids make life more interesting. But that's just me. I want to have grandkids one day

I know quite a few highly successful adults that I look up to that are completely fulfilled without children. One of them regrets it, but never found the right person and is still completely happy with his life. Others are totally happy with no regrets that I know of.

Only YOU can make the best decision for yourself. You know how badly you wanted a child before or now and how fulfilled you feel you'll be without one.

I never envisioned myself having kids, and yet here I am having one. Minds change and the situations change.

Just freeze your eggs if you're worried about regretting it later on! At least you'll have a back up plan if you do decide you want children!

To me I went by if I don't have kids what will I have to look forward to when I get old?  I have a small family so if I would have never had kids the holidays would be meaningless etc. My great aunt never had kids and the last few years of her life she was completely alone.

A lot of people don't want kids and it works out perfect for them. In my opinion, if you are on the fence, then I would have kids. You will love him/her so much it would never be a regret. But if you are on the fence it may be a regret when it's too late?
