Should the government fund or defund Planned Parenthood?

Planned parenthood offers affordable sexual healthcare to men and women regardless of their background. They provide STD/STI screening and treatment, they diagnose pregnancies, they provide MANY different forms of birth control and sexual education and they do provide abortions. I personally have found PP to be very helpful while I was figuring out what birth control method works best for me, and since I'm a student with no income right now, my birth control is free to me. 
The staff is extremely kind and informative, they're inclusive and non-judgemental, everything about my visits has been wonderful.
I have found Planned Parenthood to be an awesome resource, but I know there are many people who want it to be defunded. So, what do you think? Should the government continue to fund Planned Parenthood? Or should it be defunded and no longer provide it's services?

Just so everyone is aware, the money that planned parenthood receives from the government can not be used for abortions. The other services that they provide are completely necessary for women (birth control, counseling, etc).

I think most people want it defunded because they don't know what PP does full spectrum. They only see that limited PP clinics perform abortions and so they link all PP clinics with abortion.

Absolutely not. All that would do is result in more dead women. See Texas' current maternal mortality rate for an example.

Planned Parenthood doesn't get a check from the government to operate. They are reimbursed for service provision like any other medi-care provider. Defunding means taking away the choice of individual people to decide where they get healthcare. Also medi-care doesn't cover abortions, so it's not like defunding would change abortion.

PP is needed. Women will continue to get abortions whether it's legal or not, so we need to have a safe alternative for women who decide that's what they need to do. On top of that, PP offers screenings for all kinds of cancers, cheaper birth control options, and general advice. PP was there for me when I got pregnant at 17 while trying a birth control that obviously didn't work for me. I get that abortions aren't for everyone but I'm extremely pro-choice and think the safer we can make it, the better off every woman will be.
