Stealing off my porch.

We just moved and ive been having issues with packages. Some items from amazon come damaged cracked etc some mail of ours comes opened. And the downstairs neighbor says hes had packages ripped open with items removed. At first i thought the usps deliverer was to blame but i doubt theyd be stealing stuff. I stopped ordering to my address and order to my moms now. But if someones coming on my porch and stealing stuff ide like to know. My question though is what do i do?

Would installing cameras out front help? Cant someone just throw a rock at the camera and break it?? I never understood that. Tia.
