Indefinite location sharing with SO...

My bf and I both have iPhones and we share our location indefinitely with each other so we know where the other is at all times. My best friend says he's being controlling and that I shouldn't have ever agreed to share my location with him. I've never felt like I was being controlled in any way and it hasn't lead to any problems other than my best friend pointing out that it's controlling and weird.
