Took my pill late

Hey everyone so the other day i took my pill 2 hours late, it's the progestin mini pill and i heard you have to be extremely on time with them & I accidentally forgot to take it out with me when i went rollerskating. I had sex that day & the next i started my period.. Could me not taking the pill on time result in me having a period? Because I honestly had no signs of a period it just came the next day so could me taking it late make my period come or something?
