I'm curious what's the signs of pcos and even how do they test for it?

lab work, ultrasound and a bunch of other tests ran for me, but I also had problems with my weight (it reeks because it fluctuated alot and still does) and facial hair); there are other symptoms too, but I think those were most common for me, everyone is different

When I was diagnosed, I had several blood tests done, a transvaginal sonogram done and a normal papsmear. My signs and symptoms were/are: abnormally dark facial/body hair in some places, unable to lose weight AND easy weight gain, acne, fatigue, no period for months at a time, thinning hair. My doctor basically said to lose weight by focusing on eating more veggies and fruits and going to the gym, eating little or no sugar and minimal carbs. She also prescribed me metformin which helped me get my period back to normal for about a year then it got wacky again. On top of those things, I take prenatal vitamins and drink pregnitude ( I'm trying to get pregnant). In the last year and a half I've only managed to lose 20lbs and it's a struggle to lose anything...

My blood tests came back normal. They did a transvaginal ultrasound and saw the cysts.

My obgyn and endocrinologist weren't able to diagnose me with just the routine bloodwork. Everything came back normal.

My fertility doctor was able to diagnose me with AMH levels and a vaginal ultrasound to show I had a bagillion follicles

Hey! So reciently I have been diagnosed with PCOS.. honestly they do a blood test. It's that's easy. 
Some signs that I had were missing your period, I missed mine for 14 months.. 
I had facial hair growth, and weight gain/can't lose weight. 
 
There are a lot more signs and symptoms that can be had though.
