How to know when IUD fell out..

I've had my iud for a year a half and just recently had a lot of (rough) sex in 1 night. Well i've been bleeding bright red blood since (6 days ago) and while i have no cramping, this is very unusual since i don't bleed bright red blood, does this sound like maybe my IUD fell out? how would i know?
