Epidural wearing off??

I keep hearing all this stuff about how you don't want to get an epidural too soon because it'll wear off, etc etc. I had one with both my kids and never had that happen....has anyone actually experienced this?? I'm all worried now...I want to get it before I get too uncomfortable but I sure as hell don't want it wearing off before I push this baby out....help?!

I worked in labor and delivery....when one bottle runs out they start another!....When you start pushing, they turn off the epidural so that it starts wearing off about an hour after delivery so you are able to get up and shower and start moving around.

I had a button that I could push and when I got close to pushing the nurse told me to push it for the last time before they turn it off!

Mine wore iff, I got a top up and it only too the edge off, didn't work as well as when I initially got it.

My anesthesiologist kept topping off my epidural. I wasn't worried.

I don't think that's true, I gotten my epidural before they even broke my water & I kept pressing the button next to me when I felt like I needed more as well lol..

It never happened to me but now I hear they have a button you press when the light turns green to release the medicine 6 years ago I didn't have that I just had the shot in my back lol.

I was able to have that button to push with my other two but now reading all these horror stories had me worried that it won't be that way for this one...I hope I get a really good anesthesiologist and it works well! I think I'm the most freaked out about that...fingers crossed!

Mine wore off and when I started to push kid you not I felt everything!

Mine wore off. I'm glad it did. I did not feel many contractions. But I did feel as I was pushing. I got to feel my son come out. It was an amazing experience. I'm glad it wore off.
