Sneaky Bf & Friend ?

So my boyfriend and "friend" found that they had a few things in common that could make money due to group outings. For the whole three months they were talking through me then they saw eachother at the gas station without me and exchanged numbers. Am i tripping or was they supposed to tell me that ? I found out two weeks later from my friend randomly telling me as if I already knew. I feel like its sneaky on both parts but what do you guys think ? They claim they didnt think it was important to bring up since I already knew they wanted to make money with that idea from previous conversations.

Sidenote: they dont know eachother foreal.
