My husband wants me to wean
My DD is 10 months old and has been exclusively breast fed. My husband has recently started asking when we are going to wean. When I said I wanted to continue past 1 year he was not having it. He would like her to be completely weaned by 1 year. He knows all of the benefits and all of the AAP and WHO recommendations but thinks breastfeeding a toddler is too weird and I'm struggling to convince him otherwise. 😔 any suggestions or anyone who has gone through this?
I'm only hoping to continue until she's around 24 months anyways. And I'm only planning to be nursing her at home before and after bed eventually. I don't care if she only gets to nurse once a day after 12 months I just really want her to continue to get the antibodies.
I should also mention my mother feels the same as my husband and I struggle to not take her opinion into consideration because she does watch my DD for us once or twice a week. So my decision to continue does effect her. Especially since she watches her from before she wakes up until after she goes to bed.
