FTM contractions pain level

So how exactly painful are contractions when they first start? I'm definitely having contractions and I have a high pain tolerance and I'm trying to decide if they are Braxton hicks or real ones. I've had Braxton hicks before for like two times and they stopped. I haven't had time to time these ones yet as I'm at work but I feel like they haven't stopped all day. The pain is really just the tightening feeling. I wouldn't exactly call it that painful but it gets tighter and tighter and tighter is when it hurts and then it kind of dies down a little but it's not completely stopped.

I'm 36 weeks, had a cervix check yesterday, and doctor did say baby could come whenever now..just not sure he meant today exactly.
