I'm 17 and I've never used a tampon. Is that weird?

I've tried using one before, but I just couldn't get it in. I'm a virgin and am kinda scared of that thing down there anyway, so having to mess with it kinda freaks me out. My family and friends think I'm odd for never using one. They say pads feel like diapers and you are sitting in your on filth, but I say that I don't want a piece of cotton up my vagina. I just want to see how many people think this is normal or not so I can have some piece of mind about this.

I just hate pads! But I also have a very heavy flow. If I do pads I have to change every hour where with tampons it's every 4 or 5 so that's nice

I'm 19, and I don't use tampons. They are uncomfortable and I have a bit of a TSS phobia. Use what makes you comfortable.

I'm almost 21 and the only times I've ever used a tampon was for swimming...If I even ever feel like moving on my period, which is rare.

Honestly tampons really aren't any better or worse than pads, it's just a little weirder for a wad of cotton to be inside of my body, and it dries stuff out, just like a pad. They're both pretty gross and nasty so you're not missing out on much!

I've been using tampons for a year and they're the best. It's really up to you. I only use the ones with applicators though because it's easier. If you put them in right you won't feel a thing. But really do what's best for you.
