I'm honestly just curious. Why are some people so hostile on this app?

This app is supposed to be for giving advice, right? You can correct me if I'm wrong about that. I thought it was supposed to be a place where girls and women can lift each other up, but I've seen so many angry people on here insulting, name calling, and just downright being rude to other people. Why? I understand that underage sex, abortion, etc. may be passionate topics for some people, but why can't people give their opinions in a mature and respectful way? I just don't get why it's so hard to be respectful... not to mention there a bunch of little girls on this app, so the grown women being hostile all the time aren't setting a very good example for them.
