He took me off of the find my friends app.

So when we first met everything was great. Two months later (we grew up on the same street, so we didn't move as fast as it sounds) he added himself on my iPad on find my friends app. I asked him what that was and how it works. (He did it without asking) He said it's a way of us knowing where we are at all times. I said that's weird. Cause I had no intentions on adding myself. Well it's been a almost two years. And I even thought he forgot I can see where he is all the time. We never talked about it again. And I do check it even though he always texts me where he is and when he's coming home. (We now live together) well today I got an alert type message on a text saying he is no longer letting me follow him. He deleted it! Well I snapped a pic and send it to him. And asked him to explain what that was. He came up with the excuse that he turned his locations off cause it was draining his battery and he doesn't use it. Is this true or did he go into this app. Does anyone here know how the find my friends app works? Thanks in advance 😕
