3 cm dilated getting contractions only 34+2

I'm currently at the hospital bein monitored. I'm 3 cm dilated and the nurse said my cervix was thick. But her concern was I am getting contractions. And thay this is not my 1st baby. I am on IV, have given medication to stop contacting, they got samples like crazy from me, including the one for the infection. Maybe staying overnight to be monitored. She mentioned I might deliver but baby is still premie 😥😕😢 having mixed fellings...
