Do you put the tv on in the morning for your kids when you guys wake up?

I didn't want to be the mom that lets their kid watch tv all the time but I'm finding myself putting on a documentary or a movie almost every morning when we wake up and eat breakfast. She doesn't even watch it so idk if I'm doing it for me or for her.

We watch cartoons all day. She has a few shows she actually pays attention too. Plays otherwise.

If youre feeling guilty about too much screen time, talk to your baby about what you see on tv. Just helps them learn more words :).

In our house the morning routine revolves around the tv! We usually wake up and go to the bathroom, then we put on a baby learning show for our son. Make breakfast, clean up and then take our baths and then start our day. Or we put the news on, but most days it's some sort of baby learning movie or singalong. Not mindless tv like the kardashians, good tv that is educational and entertaining. Don't worry about being "that" mom. If it works for you and your family more power to you! Screw the haters! 😝

I'm going to be the weird mom who doesn't let her kids watch "TV" in my house. But I am going to give her an iPad at 2 years old. So she can watch a few movies or play on a few apps.

My reasoning is weird. My nieces they don't watch TV with commercials normally and when they do they loose their mind! They want everything. Like they can't handle all the stuff being sold to them. They cry and say they want they want they gotta have this and that. These are not spoiled girls. They have birthdays where all toys are donated to local churches. They just can't handle these companies selling to them. It creeps me out. So I'm going to limit her exposure to ads and commercials.

Yeah I let my son eat breakfast and watch pbs shows I feel it's not as bad since it's all about learning. After a few shows I turn it off and put on music for a while he plays and I clean or we have dance parties in the living room. Lol

Mine isn't old enough for it yet, but I'm sure I will have it on! I have tv on in the background quite frequently for myself, so I'm sure I will do it with kid shows too...as long as there is plenty of time that they are moving around, doing sports, coloring, socializing, and other things like that I don't see the harm in tv!

I watch Youtube stuff, put on some kid shows/movies but she really only pays attention to Sesame Street. She also loves watching music videos of a band we like lol it always calms her down. Super weird.

My son has shown he loves Veggie Tales. Lol so when he's awake I'll sometimes put it on. But we decided he will mostly watch the older cartoons or shows that we are familiar with. The newer cartoons are bizarre to me and don't have any lessons or learning value except for Dora. Even Disney channel, the way those kids talk to their parents on those shows is beyond me. So our kids will mostly watch netflix shows or DVD shows. That also avoids the whole commercial deal- kids see these toy commercials and go crazy.

My LO isn't old enough for tv yet but I probably will put it on for her in the mornings. Growing up we would get 30 minutes of cartoons if we woke up early enough, and then it was changed to the weather. I still remember being glued to the tv at 6/7/8 years old watching the weather before school while my mom got ready to take us.
