Pregnant ladies, this is why it's so important...
To all the soon to be mommas out there, this is why it's so important to stay hydrated during your pregnancy. I thought I was drinking more than enough to keep from getting dehydrated. But yesterday I started feeling faint, heart pounding, dizzy, nauseous, and light headed. I called my OB and they were worried about my blood sugar and blood pressure so they had me to go the ER. Once I got there, they checked everything and everything seemed normal. They decided to go ahead and give me fluids while waiting for my blood work to come back just in case I was dehydrated. However when they tried putting in the IV, my veins kept collapsing. Both hands had a collapsed vein and they finally found one that didn't collapse in my arm. It was so painful as they dug around in my hand, only to have it fail. Afterwards, there was a giant fluid pocket and significant pain. The pain is better today, but the bruises serve as a reminder for me to drink as much water as I can. Stay hydrated ladies!
