1st IVF cycle! Started my STIMs today (Jan 28). Anyone else in the same boat?

My husband and I are both 30. We have been TTC baby #1 for a year and a half. 1 failed Clomid IUI cycle. We are hoping this IVF cycle works. My doctor put me on BCPs two weeks ago. I started STIMs (Follistim and Menopur) today and ER is currently scheduled for the week of Feb 6. Good vibes and baby dust to all!!

I got pregnant with twins on my first IVF cycle.  Tried for three years (6 rounds Clomid, 4 failed IUIs with Letrozole and HCG trigger, 1 miscarriage). Got preggo in first IVF with FET. I was on 225 of Gonal-F and Cetrotide and a Lupron trigger. Had to Lupron, Vivelle patches, and PIO shots for my FET.

Retrieval wasn't bad though I will warn you that the pain is worst about day three after the retrieval. I was not warned that it would get worse before it started to get better and ended up calling the doctor thinking something was wrong and it turned out that was normal. Usually Advil does the trick and if you are doing an FET you can take Advil because you have a little break. If you are not doing an FET then you can only take Tylenol. Advil can interfere with implantation.

I just finished an IVF cycle and was on both follistim and menopur as well. Egg retrieval was Friday. Good luck And baby dust to you!!

I am also on my first round of IVF and hopefully my only around! We started a medication on the evening of January 26, 2017. But our first full day of stun meds started on January 27. I had my first appointment yesterday to check on follicle growth and there were about a total of 10 to 12 follicles growing. They were of good size and similar size to each other, which is what they wanted. My blood work was equally as good and matched what they saw on the ultrasound. My 10 mg of Lupron and 450 mg of Gonal-F are to be continued until my Saturday morning appt. While they are not sure yet, we may have our egg retrieval on Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'm on Lupron and Gonal-F…but my husband is doing the injections for me.

If it stings or burns inside after the injection, it might mean the medicine is still too cold. I was told to rub the injection area...it helps! Try waiting a few more minutes after taking it out of the fridge.

Some other advice that was given to me is to only drink warm liquids to keep your girly environment warm throughout this process!

Also, if you pinch the area that you are injecting, the skin is a little bit more taut and it makes the injection easier.

Had my ER on the 10th of Feb. At the doctors now to see if I'm still on for ET on the 15th. Fingers and toes are crossed! I've had good news between ER and ET with the embryo numbers so I'm hoping today I get the green light for Wednesday! Baby dust to all!
