How did you decide on birth control?

Having a hard time deciding what birth control I'd like to switch to. I currently have the implant in my arm but it doesnt regulate me. We don't want a baby just yet but within about 2 years we'd like to start trying... help!

I didn't really look into it before I got birth control... horrible idea! I got the depo shot & it was the worst experience of my life. After that I started taking the pill & I have a feeling that's what I'm going to go back to 😊

I talked with my dr and we tried the pill and the patch first then I used depo. I had no side effects what so ever besides mood swings but that was only around the time that I was. Supposed to get my period

The depo made me gain 40 pounds in 9 months.

The nexplanon made me an emotional wreck and I had to have it taken out after 7 months.

My favorite so far was the patch. It's super easy. There are several different places you can put it and it stays on in water. There are 3 per box (you change it weekly) and you have an off week just like the pill.

After my baby is born I plan on getting Paragard. It's an IUD but instead of using hormones it's made of copper. So none of the nasty hormonal side effects and you can get pregnant immediately after it's taken out.

Well I knew I wouldn't be able to take the pill everyday on time. I opted for nuvaring so when we were ready to try I felt I'd have a little more control over it. Two years in I got pregnant on it. So after my son was born I obviously didn't want to go back to the nuvaring and I decided on Mirena. It worked great. Had it for 2 years, it was removed in September and I'm now 8 weeks pregnant.

I went with the mirena IUD because I'm lazy and wanted the least maintenance for the longest time. I never got a period while I had it in and got pregnant within one month of having it out. I loved it and would use it again for sure.
