Where'd they all go?

Question

The other day I came across an article that begged the question, "Where did all the white people in old photos of lynch mobs and other racially charged pictures go?" There is an excerpt below of the article but it really made me think because obviously just because a few laws were passed doesn't mean those people's opinions changed. So when people say that racism no longer exists or that they don't see color you have to ask yourself, where did these people go because it wasn't that long ago that blacks were treated as less than. 
Anyway what are your thoughts? What do you think happened to the people in these pictures? Or is it possible that maybe they realized the error of their ways and changed for the better?

They didn't go anywhere. A lot of them and their families still live in the towns those images were taken in. A bunch of their grand babies comment on Glow! 😂

No, that raised their children and grandchildren with those same idiotic and racist ideals. Then those kids and grand kids grew up and taught or will teach their kids and grand kids. Don't forget they also voted for Trump. Got into the positions of elected officials, the police force, firefighters, judges, president of the US... and more. Some of those kids and grandkids are RIGHT HERE on this app... really isn't a mystery.

Lmao they didn't go anywhere, remember Dylan Roof a few weeks ago? Also just yesterday a couple was sentenced to prison in Georgia for threatening a black kids birthday party with a shot gun, telling racial slurs and death threats tell the children at the party "we came to kill the n----s"

Another example of where they went, like others have said, they voted for Trump and some are definitely on Glow as well 😭

Also to add, not long ago the KKK was handing out fliers in a Walmart down south (this was in Summer 2016 I believe) and not long after a black man was found lynched in a park in Atlanta...this wasn't even a year ago only a few months...

So where'd they all go? Absolutely no where.

I think that when you're raised that way, it's very hard to change unless you make a conscious effort everyday. Most people don't want to try that hard and just try to hide that part of themselves. A town near me in iowa, has a center that is for the KKK and up until 2008, had active meetings for the public and had cross burnings at the homes of black people. They are still there, just not allowed to advertise their meetings anymore.

Adams County, Mississippi. That's where they all went. My grandmother (granted she was a paranoid schizophrenic) was extremely racist and anti-Semitic. She actually sent money to David Duke...monthly.  My equally paranoid schizophrenic uncle is a proud member of the KKK. The community they live in is extremely racist like to the point where they don't hide who's in the KKK.

That being said, I was extraordinarily lucky to have a father who loved everyone and thought his mom was full of shit.

They are still around. Some, hopefully, grew up and realized their wrongs. Hopefully, their children and their children's children realize the wrongs their grandparents/great grandparents had or still have.

Unfortunately, the majority of them raised the racists we see today. I mean look at the shit people get away with today.
