Mother, can you not?

My mother has yet to meet my boyfriend and today I showed her the picture of us. Her only comment was : "omg you are almost the same height, I think you would look way better with a taller guy, but ugh i guess it doesnt matter. it is important that you like him. 😐" How am I supposed to respond to that? I would look better with the taller guy? So I should leave my boyfriend because he doesnt match her height requirement? I think her comment was rather rude and unneccessary. I love every inch of my boyfriend just the way it is. I dont care if he is tall/short/fat/skinny, as long as he treats me with respect and love.

What do you do when someone makes an unneccessary comment? Do you just brush it off?
