Sick at daycare?

Question

If your baby is in daycare, how often are they sick?

Details are welcome... Is it mostly just colds? Serious illness? Ear infections? Etc.

My newborn has been in daycare for 6 weeks and had 3 colds... not fun! She's a trooper.

My first is 7, has been in daycare since age 3. she has minor cold frequently. She is in a larger corporate daycare My 1 year old just started a daycare a few months ago and was out for 3 days from an ear infection with a fever. The nurse said colds are common until age 2 when their sinuses develop. She is in a smaller daycare center, non corporate.

Currently, it feels constant.  The thing is, there will be at least one bad year.  Day care kids get it over with early on.  In home or stay at home kids generally have that rough year when they first go to school.

It is a function of exposure and immune maturity.

I take care of a little girl who has an almost 3 year old brother that goes to daycare. She is always sick! Recently both had pneumonia and I got sick. My son was congested. It seems like they are always sick and it's exhausting, because thrn everyone in my house gets sick.
