Waking at night

My baby is 5 days old and wakes every 1/2 and hour to an hour at night but it's not clear why he's waking. We change him if needed and almost always end up feeding him, even if he only takes a little. He falls back to sleep but is grumbling again sighing 1/2 hour; these grumbles then turn into cries.
