We interrupt the BD for an intermission

So my SO is wonderful really he is but Every Time we BD he has to stop just at the point that I'm close to the big O to have an intermission. Ugh seriously? Sometimes it's just a five minute intermission then we are back at it and he will finally orgasm (good since we are TTC)  but sometimes during that intermission he falls asleep. Seriously again!! Today was one of my two days and of course intermission became snooze session. And he works third so I won't see him until tomorrow!!! Anyone else's SO need an intermission from BD to be able to orgasm? Or is mine just special? Getting more upset and confused and wondering if it's me...
