taking husbands last name

I'm getting married in a few months and I am taking my husbands last name. Everyone is giving me shit over it , not sure why? I always thought women were supposed to support each other's decisions?? I'm not killing a person, I'm taking my life partners name, is that a crime nowadays? Honestly I am so fed up because people that are supposed to stand by my side on my wedding day are giving me such shit for my own decisions
