interracial relationships and racism
I'm black and my boyfriend is Hispanic, I don't really hear any black jokes from his family but I hear a lot from my side. My dad calls him Pablo or horhey (don't know how to spell it) and my mom often connects him with a lot of Hispanic things that she's heard about. I asked my mom about getting some fruits me vegirables and my mom responded with oh so your tired of his Mexican food. Plus just today a cold sore sprouted and she responded with Oooooohhh Jose have you herpes. I alway try to redirect my mom and dad from racial slurs but they usually don't listen. Does anyone else have issues with this?
