single moms

Hey, I have a question towards women who are currently or going to be a single mother. When asked about the child's father, what do you say? I just had my baby not too long ago and I have just been getting things that require baby's father information but I absolutely want nothing to do with him at all. I wanted to apply for assistance so I can get a little help and I'm scared they might make him come around again. I left because of abuse andI didn't want my daughter to be around that kind of environment. So when they ask, what should I say? He's not on the birth certificate as well.
