am I wrong for taking his money?

I filed child support on my son's father about a week ago so he hasn't been notified yet. But this Sunday he is suppose to pay me his half of our son's daycare.  would it be wrong for me to take his money knowing I filed child support on him? The reason I did it is because he is not responsible at all and so far I've already had to remind him 3 times to get the baby diapers and wipes I just don't want to regret not filing. But I feel alittle guilty like I'm taking his money because he may have to start paying me soon. Should I not take his money for daycare this weekend? (If he pays it)

Yes of course you should take it he has to pay also and support will take alitle bit to kick in

The point of child support is for him to pay CONSISTENTLY for your child's funds. How does him paying you once (out of however many times he should've) suddenly got in the way of this? He should've been paying up from the beginning. Giving his share just once doesn't make everything okay again.

Absolutely. He will get notified but the first payment usually takes the longest because it has to go through payroll and get set up and the  you have to get your side together. The child support is for your child so I see it as a necessity and not something your doing for spite.

Why would it be wrong? They will expect he had been contributing since birth. They frown upon deadbeat parents.

You just filed for child support, it could take several weeks/months before it's settled in court or through the state. You should definitely still accept his help financially.

My exhusband was ordered to pay child support during our divorce process.. He hasn't made but one payment.. and he's not responsible for anything outside of his monthly $213 unless he wants to gift his son. It's a joke. I hope you have better success!

Update: he probably won't pay the daycare. I just called the child support office and she told me they already scheduled our meeting for May 15th and the letters were mailed out on yesterday so he will probably get he's sometime this week. Once him and his mom sees it I'm sure he won't pay me anything until he has to. The lady was very shocked that we have an Appointment so soon but I guess that's a good thing

Usually it's a weekly amount and then whatever percentage of daycare he will be responsible for
