((tw)) abusive ex and lost job
A couple of weeks ago, my best friend & I had a falling out. He immediately ran to my abusive ex that he has personally given me safe shelter from, so he knows how dangerous he is. He told my ex where I work, and my ex called my job and threatened my boss, then sent the police to my job saying *i* threatened him on the property-- when I wasn't even there that day, or threatened him at all. I'm terrified of this guy and how he uses the authorities to get to me. I have court against his FRIEND that pressed b.s. charges on me on Thursday, and I'm terrified of what they have done to "prove" it was me harassing them. This guy set his house on fire at age 16 because they got evicted. My saving grace is a threatening voicemail on "my" offense date, and his mile long record and owing North Carolina $7000+ in probation fees. Obviously, I'm unemployed. A few friends said I "can't" get terminated for that, but I think in NC you can breathe wrong and get fired. Has anyone dealt with this before??? My manager said she wasn't mad and has been worried about me, but I feel like they let me go because it was just too much. Which hurts, because it isn't me. I can't help this asshole wants to ruin my life. I finally got to the point where I set up my bank account to blindly move $25 into savings on the 1st of every month. It isn't a lot, but it's a small step ahead with how much student debt I have and how I'm doing this on my own. I just need to talk to other people who have lost so much because of an abusive ex. I need to know this isn't my fault.
