Over breastfeeding??

Question

Anyone else over breastfeeding? I'm 3 weeks PP and have been exclusively pumping for 2.5 weeks due to baby being tongue tied. We have an appointment set up to correct it but not sure if I want baby on the breast.. I've been doing fine pumping but honestly with pumping every 2-3 hours and washing everything I'm over it. I honestly keep doing it because my husband is pushing me to keep going. I know breastmilk is best for baby but formula isn't a bad thing (I've been supplementing also). I just feel like I could be a better mom to my 3 year old and my newborn. I'm going to throw it out there.. it's not for everyone.. I went threw this same situation with my older son and made it to 8 weeks breastfeeding. Any other mamas feeling the same??

I exclusively pumped for 4 months and had to stop because I nearly put myself in hospital. My son couldn't latch because he was premature so I tried for as long as I could. 
I wish I'd stopped earlier. I made myself so ill that I was just about surviving. I'm a much better mum now because I'm healthy. If it's causing you that much stress and worry then stop. You've done amazingly well to go this far- pumping is tough!

I had to exclusively pump (and then dump) for 3 days following some medical treatment and I seriously don't think I would have managed to keep going for much longer. I don't mind pumping at work but am very glad when I can bf! So credit to you! I also supplement, also because she wasn't drinking enough and I was supoised to pump after each feeding and them give her that milk. I found it too much and so for my sanity, i started supplementing with formula whenever I wasnt able or wanting to pump. Works well for me. It is like you said, you need to do what allows you to be the kind of mum that you want to be!

Exclusively pumping is harder than breastfeeding. I had to exclusively pump at first because my son lost his latch and it was such a pain in the ass. Breastfeeding is much easier.

BFing is easier then pumping, I was doing both for 4 months because my baby was tied. We finally got his corrected and now I just pump once at night when he's in bed. I add that pump to my stash

I pumped for my first more than I actually nursed. I wash my stuff in the dishwasher Bc im too lazy. This time around, I nurse Bc it's easier than washing all that shit. Nursing is way easier than washing my pump and bottles or just bottles in general

Once it's fixed you can babywear and nurse at the same time. That will give you more mobility. I don't know if mixing bottles and washing bottles is easier or not.

Do what's best for you. I pumped for 15 months with both my children because I work full time. When I am home there were breastfed. I am still breastfeeding my son (he will be 2 in July). I have be continuously breastfeeding now for over four years. It's not for everyone, it's a lot of work and sleepless nights. I love it though and hope to do it with a third. I do hate pumping though. It's really the worst! Good luck to you and whatever you choose is the right choice.

My boy just turned 5 months yesterday and we're EBF. I've been over breastfeeding since day 3 😩 I HATE pumping though. I'm bad at it. I don't get much. It takes me all day to get 3 oz regardless of how many oats I eat or fenugreek I take. I hate defrosting milk and washing bottles too though, and he spits out every kind of formula like it's poison. He also falls asleep while nursing, he's never fallen asleep with a bottle. So here we are 🙄

No, not really. I exclusively pumped for the most part with my first and have been exclusively nursing for 6 1/2 months with my second. I think breastfeeding is much easier than cleaning all those pump parts and bottles. It's MUCH cheaper than formula, and better for the baby. The only plus for me is having my body 100% back to myself.

Is your hubby helping you?  My SO helps a lot to make it less of a burden for me.  I've been exclusively pumping for 18 weeks and never thought I would get this far but thanks to him I have.  He helps me with her morning feedings so I can pump while he feeds her.  This means I get a little more sleep than if I had to pump, feed and then change her.  He also washes the bottles at least every other day.  He has washed them the last three days in a row because I have been so exhausted from work.  If he weren't helping as much as he is, I would have given up months ago.  I say that if it is so important to your husband that you continue, he needs to step it up.
