Naming baby after relatives

So my SO is thinking that for a girl, that we have one of her names be Victoria after his nana that loved him to bits before she passed away.

I'm thinking that maybe we do it to honor my grandmother that I never knew, she died of cancer before I turned 2. I know it'd mean a lot to my mom and her sisters. Her name is Geraldine.

I love the name Victoria.. not a fan of Geraldine. And neither go together. Do we scrap the idea all together or try to make it work?

I've looked at names that mean the same as Geraldine (ruler with a spear) which is pretty badass, but they're all older names I still don't care for.. any help with something along the lines of spear or spear related things? My mom actually really likes the idea if it'd mean the same, even if it isn't the same name.
