early labor starting

38 +3 along and I've started early labor. 1 cm dilated 70% thinned out. Having sharp medium contractions every 10 min. Dr said to wait til contractions get more intense to go to l&d and that I prob won't make it to my next apmnt next week the 30th, but these contractions are hurting like a b**** ! 😣😩🙄 so I'm just supposed to wait it out in pain? Ugh here we goooo. Any advice ? No rude negative comments plz
