Last year I was raped by a guy I had been casually dating at the time and had know for a couple years. We meet on a dating website but technically dated twice. When it happened I froze and couldn't move only cry and yell. I was a virgin and I didn't bleed and it felt like it was hitting a wall instead of going in. I have been trying to wrap my head around it and can't seem to come to an answer. I would really like others opinions because my OBGYN was rude and just said well yea you did it technically went inside. Please help!

"Virginity" is a social construct and it's not real. Your virginity is whatever you want to make it, whatever it means to you. Your first time is something that you willingly participate in. It is completely up to you and you should never feel as though you aren't as valuable/worthy.

I was a "virgin" when I was raped and still hate the concept of virginity and struggle with them fact that it was "taken" even though it shouldn't matter to me because I know it's just a stupid social construct, but it was something I views as special and had pictured the like cute and awkward "losing your virginity" moment that you see in movies and stuff up im until that point and it still makes me really angry, especially since I could've prevented it, but honestly, it's what meme you want to believe.. I try really hard to think that I lost my virginity when I had actual CONSENSUAL sex for the first time, but it's really hard to make yourself believe even if others even tell you that and even if it makes sense. I'm really sorry that I can't give you a straight answer. Wish it was just a yes or a no honestly, but the fact that you did not consent is why it should be a no. I don't even think I bled. It doesn't happen to everyone. Some people's hymens tear or break down even years before having sex of any kind. Bleeding in no way correlates to "virginity", that's just something  dumb men created to control women's bodies and worth.

Losing your virginity goes way beyond the physical aspects you loose your virginity once you have consentual sex for the first time and that should be with someone who loves you as much as you love them and respects you in every way including physically you can't chage what happened to you but you do have from today on forward regardless of what others say stay strong and move forward gorgeous
