He hurt me

I don't even know what to title this post. A few nights ago my SO and I got into an argument and it got physical. I ended up with a blue-green bruise on the outer corner of my eye. He just told me he loves me that he is sorry and that I should have given up on him years ago.. then he sees the bruise and says to me "what's that, is that a black eye?.. I didn't do that" I didn't say anything and he said to me "sometimes I think you do this to yourself so other people can see".. what the fuck says something like that?!
