Birth mother

I know we haven't spoken about the adoption since it happened and sometimes I even forget that you were the one giving birth in that hospital since you weren't  holding me the day after I had left. I don't mind that you chose this, in fact I applaud you for it everyday. Without you I wouldn't be where I am today you have taught me so much without even knowing it. You taught me how to take on the world how it was given to me, you taught me to understand how things change as easily as you could flip a coin, you taught me to be strong because most of the time when life gives you a challenge you will make the right choice and you will grow from that. I don't hold this against you because you gave me a life I would have never had with you, you gave me the chance to become who I needed to be. Through this I have grown to become a strong young women that can take a situation for all it is worth and understand that there is no way around it only taking it head on. So for this I thank you, and I thank your children for showing me that you are a wonderful women that can care for a child but you simply weren't ready.
