Would You Have Intervened?

Question

As I left the grocery store today, the store manager was basically screaming at a cashier. She couldn't have been more than 16-17, in the entrance area where customers are either walking in or leaving. She was literally almost in tears. Normally, I won't say anything. But I also know that's a bad look for any company to exhibit that kind of behavior in front of their customers. I feel like she was publicly shamed and would have stepped in if my child wasn't there. Would you have?

I Would have sat there like this,  until he noticed.  Then i would have probably said he needed Jesus.  Hopefully the embarrassment  had him stop.  And realize he was being a dick.

I would have filed a complaint, I don't want to see/hear that while doing my shopping.

I feel like that's one of those situations you witness and want to intervene but just don't. Then you think about it all day regretting not getting involved 😔 poor girl

I would have yelled back at the manager. And said "hey you idiot you have customers here trying to shop peacefully and your loud ass disrespectful mouth is disrupting that!", "can I have your name asshole? H it's not asshole,  ok then Robert (made up name) can I get thedistrict managers name? Great Robert thanks for the info enjoy your job while it ladt✌🏼😎🤷🏻‍♀️" and continued on with my shopping on the phone with his manager looking at him like this👇🏼

I would have stand in front of them and awkwardly watched them until the manager feels uncomfortable enough to stop or I'll interrupt him/her 😅🤷‍♀️😂 and ask a dumb question about what's seems to be the problem and why the the "solution" is yelling. I like to be the mediator on these situations. Poor girl, that's never the way to been treated as an employee even if you made a mistake. That's a poor management handling. I would complaint to the company.

I would say something! Being in Managment myself I have never yelled at one of my employees in front of anyone, or by themselves. Some people need to learn how to be professional and that doesn't look good on them or the company.

I would have asked the manager to knock it off, and filed a complaint with the store. There is no reason to yell at an employee in a customer service role.

I've intervened before and the employee started yelling at me. The manger was calling her stupid and I told her to not accept that and told him to not speak to her like that she said said "I didn't ask for your help". 
But I would still do it again

I would've said something. That could be my daughter one day and I would not allow her to be treated or get treated that way. I would've said to the manager "wow you must be on a power trip, the totalitarian style of management doesn't work, who is your district manager? I think they deserve a Phone call." If my daughter wasn't with me I would just call him an asshole for
Embarrassing an employee.

I probably wouldn't have intervened but I prob would talk to the manager privately another time or filed a complaint. No one needs to see behavior like that at any establishment. It's unprofessional for a manager to speak that way to an employee and unattractive for the store.
