Please help.
For the past two or three weeks, I've had a sore throat accompanied by coughing, upset stomach, tight feeling in my throat, and on/off low grade fever (typically in the 99 range).
I didn't think much of it until recently when I found myself unable to swallow anything. I tried eating a sandwich and even drinking some water, but I felt a combination of achy, scratchy, and stabbing pains. It felt like someone was shoving a knife down my throat. I'm even having a hard time swallowing my own saliva.
I have no signs of strep, like the white splotches, redness, or swelling; so we've ruled that out. I have known allergies to dogs, of which I have three, but I've never had this issue before; nor has it ever been this bad. I also usually switch between water, Powerade, and chewing ice; so I am getting plenty of fluids.
I don't know what to do. I just want to be able to eat and drink things without crying out in pain.
