Do doctors prescribe anything for colic?

It started at 4 weeks, she's now about to be 6 weeks. DD screams from 8pm-11pm almost every night 
Holding doesn't help, she'll refuse the breast and a pacifier. We tried gripe water and probiotics and both don't do anything. Showers don't work either

My husband swears that none of his children has ever been like this, something was always able to soothe them. I figured it must be colic 😞 Do we really have to wait 3 months for this to magically stop or can her doctor do something?

Also another silly question, does this mean I have an unhappy baby? DH says that she's a grumpy and unhappy baby. I love her so much, I want her to be happy. I give her cuddles and kisses all day even when everyone tells me that's spoiling her. I never yelled at her or have gotten frustrated, I sit and pat her through the whole crying spell 😞 Will she ever be happy ?

I'm the Uk we have infacol it works wonders I think! I don't know if you have it over there? But if you do then you should definitely try it. Hope you find something that works!!

My daughter is the same! She was constantly crying for hours ! We tried gripe water and it didn't work and when she had her next dr appointment for her 1 month the dr listened to her tummy and said she has a lot of gas and recommended this Infant Mylicon, we used it often and now we get a full night of sleep! I definitely recommend it

Catnip tea was awesome for our son. Two tablespoons catnip in 8-10oz water. Heat in microwave for 2minutes or until supper hot. Strain the catnip out of the water. Pour catnip infused water into a bottles with a but of sugar to help with the tartness. Soothes babies stomach and helps calm them.

It's probably gas, in which case you can try a gentle tummy massage or bicycling her legs. Tummy time can also help- at this age I usually do tummy time skin to skin on my chest laying in a reclined position and gently massage her back. 
However, it could be just plain colic and she will cry like this every night for a month or more and it will magically stop. Do you have a swing? Or a rocker? That helped my firstborn during her first two weeks when she did nothing but cry no matter what.

I go through a check list in my head o er and over again 8oclock on the dot it starts. 1. I hold her with her back to my chest and lightly bounce and walk around the house.2. i see if shes hungry 3.try and burp her 4. Lay her on her back and play with her legs, stretching them out and back in towards her chest and then on circles while still up to her chest. Theres one thing that normally gets her pretty calm and sometimes asleep i put my nursing pillow around me put her bum on it and hold her under the armpits with my fingers supporting the back of her head and my thumbs out incase her head goes forward. Then i lightly move her upand down almost a rougher wiggle.while going ssssshhhhhh for about 5 mins and she calms right down.
