Trying after birth control

So I'm a few days away from ending my depo provera shot. It will be 3 months and I don't want to continue it because we would like to start trying again. We tried for a year before becoming pregnant but later lost my sweet boy at 16 weeks. That's when I got the shot to just take some time from what had happened with my first child. My question is how long will it be before I could become pregnant? Like a few months or a few years? I know everyone's different but I just want to hear your opinions and advice. Also the shot was the first one Iv ever gotten. I used to be on the pill awhile before that.
