Was I wrong or was my friend?
This past school year was my senior year of college and my friend was in this one class with me. (We haven't been as close as we used to be and I've been wanting to cut her off for various reasons.) 60% of the grade for this class was the essay midterm and final. The teacher gave us the questions ahead of time (9) and would pick some of them randomly. She would even let us send her our answers for her to look over and give feedback. Well, the teacher told my friend that she needed more detail for a few of them. On the other hand, my teacher said mine looked great. It came out to about 7 pages single spaced and took me about 3 days to finish so I could start to study them for the exam.
My friend texted me asking if we could send them to each other to compare our answers since the teacher said she needed more. I had already seen part of her study guide when she asked me about a different question before the teacher got back to her. Hers was a really short outline while mine were completely typed out in essay format.
I wasn't comfortable sending her my essays that I worked really hard on, plus I didn't want her to copy anything. I was really nice and told her later on that day I could send her the exact page numbers where I got everything from and she could add whatever details she still needed to answer the questions. I could tell she was annoyed and said "it's cool I'll just figure it out by myself". I told her that I wanted to help and I figured that would be easiest. So she proceeded to complain all day and just say i guess the teacher will just have to take points off like really? Was I wrong not to send her my work or was she wrong for asking in the first place? We were seniors in college.
