"N****r is a bad word"
So before anyone gets offended I just want to say this is not what you think. I am very proud of my son for this.
My grandmother took my son who is 4 (on Friday 🎈🎉🎊) to McDonald's to play. There was a little boy about my sons age and his sister who was much younger, they happened to be african-american. There was another little boy from my sons daycare who is part Latino.
Well the mom of the brother/sister (who was also black) came into the play area and started dropping the N****r word. No idea why as I wasn't there or who she was referring to. My son immediately stopped playing, walked up to her and said "he is not a n****r, he is black. He is a little black boy. That is a bad word and you shouldn't say that!" She then snarled her nose up as if in disgust and walked out with both of her kids not letting them continue playing.
I'm proud of him for 2 reasons: 1) he attempted to defended his friend whom he only knew for a matter of minutes and 2) my 4 year old knows that is a very bad word that we don't say better than a fully grown adult.
My husband I try very hard to teach our son race shouldn't be a primary factor or derogatory in any way. I am very very proud of him.
