affection

lets say I show my man affection/love/whatever, all the time. i always ask him if hes ok, if he needs anything, and ill go out of my way to do things for him. he does the same (brings me food, brushes my hair, thar kind of stuff) but sometimes it feels like some things are on his terms. he only asks me how my day went or how im feeling (i have anxiety and depression) AFTER hes "relaxed" & did what he wants (plays games). am i wrong for wanting him to at least check up on me as much as i do for him or am i asking too much? he says he appreciates how i take care of him and yes, i acknowledge the fact that he takes care of me in his own way, but... i just dont understand why he gets to choose when he wants to hear what i have to say, when im always putting things down to listen to him.
