Paraguard: My experience so far

Sydne

I had a Paraguard IUD placed yesterday. It was painful but not unbearable. She put the speculum in and then used iodine to clean my cervix. That part didn't hurt it was just uncomfortable and seemed like the longest part. Next she used a clamp to hold my cervix in place. That was uncomfortable! I felt a tugging sort of pain below my belly button. The pain then started in my lower back and down my left butt check. It was comparable to a bad period cramp. It took her about 8min from start to finish. I bleed some but not a lot. Only about enough to fill a regular tampon in a few hours. The pain in my back lasted all day. It felt like I pulled a muscle. Tylenol helped! Today the pain is gone and the bleeding is a lot less.

I'll update this if anything changes!
