What do contractions feel like?

This is my second pregnancy, with my first I was induced and immediately given an epidural so I could distinguish how contractions feel. I'm 36+6, I've been having a lot of stomach pains and back pains. My stomach pains feel like menstrual cramps just a notch higher. I have been going #2 a lot throughout the day(which is very unusual and I know TMI) can you ladies help me on distinguishing real contractions to BH.

To me very strong, gassy almost I need to poo pains. But 10x worse. And wouldn't stop. BH I didn't have no pain, just slight pressure.

For me I've had two types since Friday.  the first feels like period cramps and can quickly kick up a notch it died from my lower back around to my abdomen/ pelvis.  The second is pure back/ predominately back with slight pelvic pain.  Those SUCK. And for me it's all over not just a specific spot.

I'd say those are contractions. My BH felt like tightening in my stomach, but no pain. My OB said until the contractions increase in pain, stay consistent and get around 5 minutes apart, there's no reason to come in.
