why do people say your life is over when you have a baby?

it's not over it's barely beginning! im 24 and pregnant, im going to college still and people tell me why go when ur pregnant ? like ummmmmm i can still pursue my dream even if i'm still going to college and pregnant  😒 my baby isn't a mistake if anything it's makeing me more powerful and confident. yeah i decided to go to college late but who cares? my moms family is always talking shit about me.

Your life is over. Your old life. Nothing is ever the same once you have a baby. The  second that baby is born your life is totally different.  You can still have A life, but the one you had originally is over.

I'm right there with you! I'm 24, 39 weeks pregnant, and in nursing school. I am under no impression that it's going to be easy, but I HATE it when people talk down to me as if they don't believe that I can still finish school. I know my life is gonna change, but now that I'm about to have this little boy, I want more than anything to provide for him and show him that I didn't give up on my dreams even if it was difficult.  My fiancée's loves to go on and on about how I have no idea what I'm getting myself into and keeps telling me I'm not gonna be able to do it. I'll prove them wrong though 💁🏻

Trust me your old life is over... it's the start of a new life and you'll have a lot of responsibility and not near as much time to do what you want to do. You'll live for your child and your child will always come first yourneeds will be last and at times you'll want to scream and youllbe stressed your life will no longer be carefree

Don't listen to them. I had a baby in the middle of grad school. My advisor told me to drop out because I would never finish. My son was 2 and at my graduation. 
My life changed and i made sacrifices, only say him when he was sleep for 2 years, but 8 years later it was sooo worth it

I have no clue but my life officially started when I had kids and it's still going in the right direction. I think most have this idea in their heads to how Parenthood should go and when the realities kick in and it's nothing like they imagined they think their life is over and they think you will feel the same way?? or some like a baby free life so when they become parents they think their life is over and oh no now I have to fit into this one category that I don't want to be in. I love being a mom and it changed my life for the better, it definitely did not put a damper on my life. I don't know what I would do if I never had my first when I did.
