For those who need hope..
I wanted to share for anyone who needs some hope and is struggling.
Last year I had 3 miscarriages back to back all before 6 weeks. We did the typical tests and all that came back was mthfr mutation and suspected pcos. I was told not to try again until we figured out what was happening. Well fast forward to December and I get pregnant. My doc is not thrilled, but puts me on baby aspirin and progesterone while we wait for tests. I am prepared for the worst, but this time my hcg levels are rising and for the first time in 4 pregnancies, we see the heartbeat on the ultrasound. It was a very scary and rough first trimester, but with a very caring and committed gynecologist we got through the first trimester and then thank goodness because my doc did ultrasounds regularly, she noticed my cervix was shortening. She sent me to an amazing maternal fetal specialist who confirmed my cervix was shortening and putting me at risk for premature labor, so he immediately put in a double cerclage. I was monitored closely for the rest of the pregnancy, and at 35 weeks my fluid dropped significantly. I was hydrated in the hospital and a week later at 36 weeks it was again at a scary level. Doc decided it was time to remove cerclage and induce. It was an awful delivery that ended in c-section but now I have a beautiful miracle baby girl who has melted my heart. A struggle from beginning to end but worth it.
For those of you struggling with multiple miscarriages...dont lose hope. Find a good doctor! Keep trying if you feel up to it! And insist that all of your complaints, however small, be taken seriously!
