Cytotec for cervix??

Question

My doctor wants to use Cytotec for cervical ripening and so I googled it (never a good idea I guess) and um this sounds like a bad idea. I'm freaking out!! Do you ladies have any information on it??

How far along are you? I was induced with my first for pre-eclampsia and our hospital induction policy is come in at night and have cytotec placed. Then pitocin started in the morning. My experience was fine but I was only 2 days shy of my DD. The cytotec may have given me some little cramps but nothing else. And my labor the next day was only 6-8 hours. That being said... If you can wait for spontaneous labor that's always better. : )

I was given cytotec after my d&c; last summer following a missed miscarriage. It will trigger contractions for sure.
