Weight gain with pregnancy- advice please
This is my second baby my first is 4&1/2 and when I was pregnant with him I was young. 18-19 years old and When I found out I was pregnant with him I weighed 108pounds. At delivery I weighed 168 pounds. Total of 60 pounds gained during my pregnancy. I did NOTHING different. My eating habits were the same. I was just as active as always, except the last 10 weeks I was on bedrest. He was 9 pounds 9 ounces. The day I went home with him I was already down 30 pounds!!!
My dr was not and still is not thrilled with all the weight gain.
Now I'm 24, 23 weeks pregnant. If anything I'm MORE active this time around and I eat healthier than I used to as a teenager. I'm a nurse who is on her feet all day and then I'm home taking care of a very active 4 year old and taking care of my home. I started out this pregnancy at 130 pounds, and was very healthy. I felt great with my body. I was at a healthy weight and happy. My dr politely reminded me we are gunna watch my weigh gain this time. I'm already 148 pounds.
How did this happen? I lost weight in the beginning due to morning sickness. I'm eating my normal amounts, and remaining active.
I am feeling very self conscious and concerned with how easily I'm putting on weight. I feel like I look fine when I'm getting dressed and looking in the mirror, and people keep telling me I look very cute and my "bump is perfect" but every time I see a picture of myself I cringe thinking "do I really look like this?"
I have a Drs appointment coming up and I'm dreading them saying something about me putting on another 10 pounds since last visit.
Basically I'm just reaching out for advice. Do this seem normal? Do some women just gain weight easier with pregnancy? Do I really have to change my whole lifestyle and start working out to stay at a healthy weight for this pregnancy? Anyone have any similar stories?
